Why Spain is one of the most LGBTQ + loving countries in the world

Famous for its prominent Catholic churches, could Barcelona become a destination for LGBT + travelers? it’s true!

Before visiting Barcelona, I didn’t know much about the city and its culture. However, I was familiar with the city’s historical relationship with Catholicism, with famous sites such as La Sagrada Familia and Parc Güell.

Can a city with deep religious ties be a destination for the LGBTQ +community? To answer that question, Christian and I decided to stay with Juame Vidal o Visit Barcelona and Eloi Morte, Director of Pride Barcelona. They took us to a restaurant called FOZ, a local restaurant in the heart of Barcelona’s male state. While we were looking for delicious local food, we found that more than 50,000 people attended this year’s Pride Barcelona. Barcelona was marked as a city I would visit again…

However, the most interesting thing we learned about Pride Barcelona is that it attracts a large number of local LGBTQ + people. Juame and Eloi stressed that the LGBTQ + community in Barcelona is closely linked, and that the entire LGBTQ + culture is a key part of Barcelona’s appeal as a tourist destination.
