Continuing to wear the robe, the sleeves of the robes are decorated with a pattern similar to the star images used by astronomers. A “missionary board” on the left is shown Houston’s four codes at the corners of the Astros carrying the Texas state flag.
The Nike logo (swoosh) on the far right side is fastened with a gold cord as the multi-layer insulation is used to cover and protect most of the missionary equipment that is sent into the air. A golden lunar land and the famous Apollo 11 slogan – “Houston, the Ethos have landed” – engraved on the jock tag are symbols of accomplishment up to the heights.
Also, the word “Go for Launch” was sewn into the dress, which can be seen on the orange Astros inside the collar. The letter is supposed to be a constant reminder to players that “our journey to accomplish the most is ‘go for a start.'”
The nods are also attached to the top of the dress, pants and socks, continuing the “Space City” theme from head to toe.
Starting at the top, the logo on the hat adds to the Earth’s orbital path to the company’s traditional “Star H” design. A small icon on the right side of the hat also shows the “Astros” in the NASA worm font.
Entering each player’s number on his or her right pant leg is not uncommon, signaling the team’s desire to “hit its own path.” Similarly, the change of gradient socks from deep red to bright yellow is expected to indicate a release from rocket engines firing cars into the air.
All over the world, the Nike City Connect blue jerseys also feature rainbow colored pipes and highlights reminiscent of the Astros look of the 1970s.
