In a study published in Food and Forest Meteorology, researchers from the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences investigated the climate evolution of pine species and its spatial differences between temperature and humidity in southwestern China. They investigated the major causes of climate restriction on tree growth and how the climate of pineapples changed in terms of temperature and humidity. southwest of China.

The researchers created tree trunks of two pine species (Pinus yunnanensis and Pinus nyayaya), which are widespread in Southeast Asia and share the same developmental principle. They developed tree -wide chronologies from 22 sites of P. yunnanensis and 20 sites of P.uziya, a total of 903 trees (1684 cores), covering the land from 21 ° N to 28 ° N. N a from 98 ° E to 107 ° E.

They found that the climate of P. yunnanensis and P. nyayaya exhibited precise changes in conditions such as temperature and moisture gradients, which were largely guided by specific environmental conditions within. of the ecological amplitudes of the species.

The growth of P. yunnanensis and P.uziya trees in southwestern China has been very difficult and is largely driven by the availability of dry season, but is not well associated with availability. of the water of the growing season. The water content of P. kataya decreased from the dry area to the soil.

To date, P. yunnanensis has demonstrated high temperature sensitivity, i.e., good temperature sensitivity below water conditions (the lower temperature range), but the negative effects of high temperatures on the dry place. P. yunnanensis’s temperature decreased from cold to warmer climates.
