Malt owns a free online retailer Comatch – TechCrunch

It’s time to join the independent marketing industry. Malt owns the French start of Comatch, a competitive market focused on engineering and technology. Comatch was originally launched in Germany, which now doubles as Malt in the German market. The terms of the agreement are not disclosed but relate to a combination of equity and finance.

Malt started as a marketplace for freelance developers, engineers and other technology professionals with talent -seeking businesses. The startup raised a lot of money and succeeded in attracting 340,000 freelancers across Europe.

Previously limited to the French market, Malt has expanded to Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Switzerland in recent years. 40,000 companies turned to Malt to find freelance or freelancers.

Unilever, Lufthansa, Bosch, BlaBlaCar, L’Oréal and Allianz are the customers. As you can see, many large companies have used Malt at some point.

Malt specializes in high -end freelancing jobs that can fill a gap when a new project comes up. In addition to developers, Malt offers opportunities for marketing and communication professionals, graphic designers and more.

Using a platform like Malt can be of great use when you’re just starting out as a freelancer and don’t have a large network of customers. Malt also helps you manage driving licenses. Freelancers can pay their customers directly from Malt and, of course, Malt takes a small cut.

For Comatch, the company follows the same model, but with a more specific focus on management and business professionals. Malt has not specifically addressed business consultants at this time. So the industry is entering a new vertical.

“Comatch is a leader in the business consulting markets. As a partner sharing Malt’s ‘community first’, we put our talents at the core of the product and business in our vision for the future of the industry. , we want and are happy to connect our two worlds of high quality freelancers. Malt co-founder and CEO Vincent Huguet said in a statement.

Malt wants to be a free market in Europe. Comatch has hosted 15,000 freelancers in nine markets and the two companies have worked with 80% of the total marketing companies in CAC 40 and DAX 40. Comatch is an opportunity to grow outdoors.

After this acquisition, Malt had an important goal. By 2024, the company expects to add € 1 billion to its business size. Malt plans to hire another 150 employees by the end of 2022.
