Celtics ’Jaylen Brown leaves with ankle vs. Hawks

Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics exit the locker room Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks with an ankle injury and rain apart for the rest of the game with what the team called a sprain.

Brown, 25, was injured when he ran into the basket and stepped on the foot of Hawks’ De’Andre Hunter.

Brown has had 23.7 points, 3.3 assists, and 6.3 rebounds for the Celtics this season. He previously missed eight games in November and five games in December while suffering a hamstring injury.

The Celtics were one of the hottest teams in the NBA in February with a 9-2 record, as they ended the month with a 128-107 win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. It was the first time Boston had scored more than 112 points in a game since Christmas.
